A LITTLE HELP ALONG THE WAY
Make yourself at home.
Answers about the website, reading plans, Scripture, and the app.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions? Start here.
Where should I start reading the Bible?
A Gospel is a good place to begin. Mark offers a relatively short account of Jesus’ life. Our Meeting Jesus plan gives you seven selected passages, each with a reading guide and a question to reflect on.
Which Bible translation will I find here?
This website uses the World English Bible (WEB), a public-domain English translation. Every quotation is drawn from the same unmodified source bundled with the app, and includes its reference and translation.
How do the Bible app and website fit together?
The Bible app brings offline reading, device-generated audio, verse-linked notes, prayer intentions, and memory practice into one place. On this website, you can read Scripture, follow reading plans, and explore study guides. Website notes and reading progress stay in your browser.
Can I read without creating an account?
Yes. The Bible reader and all guides are available without creating an account. Reading preferences and plan progress are saved only in this browser when storage is available. The app’s current offline features also work without an account.
Does the app work offline?
The app bundles the complete World English Bible and Lutherbibel 1912 for offline reading. Its reading plans, saved verses, journal, and prayer features are stored on your device. The website needs an internet connection to open pages and load books.
Are reflections and AI responses part of Scripture?
No. Scripture is quoted exactly and attributed. Reading guides and reflection questions are original editorial content, shown separately. This website does not generate AI responses.
Finding your place
Choose a book and chapter in the online reader. Links from plans and topics open the relevant chapter at the starting verse. Paper and Night change the reading surface; A− and A+ adjust the text size. Your last book and chapter are remembered in this browser when storage is available. Focus view hides the surrounding navigation while you read. Choose “Leave focus view” to bring it back.
Keeping your plan progress
Open a reading on a plan page, follow its passage link, then mark it as read when you are ready. You can undo that choice at any time. Progress is stored in this browser only. Clearing website data or using a different browser starts a separate record.
Keeping a personal note
Guides, book pages, topic pages, and plan readings include a place for your own words. Choose “Save my note” to keep the text in this browser. Each page remembers its own note; changes are not saved automatically. “Clear this note” removes that page’s saved note. These notes do not sync to the mobile app or another device.
Using the Bible app
Visit the app page for an overview of offline reading, device-generated audio, journal notes, prayer intentions, and verse practice. The feature guides explain how each part fits into your reading routine. For information about saved notes and backups, see the privacy page.
